In Linux, install the package ntfs-3g from your distros repositories, or download it from here and follow the instructions to install it. Some distros such as Ubuntu may have it already pre-installed. Now your Linux system can read from and write to NTFS formatted drives, you now must make sure all your personal files from both locations are in your Windows user space.
If not, then you can mount the partition with your Windows user space onto a folder in linux. Firstly use the following command to list all your partitions:.
Use lsblk -f again and take note of the UUID of the partition you need. The folder you are mounting on will have to exist. I recommend mounting each sub-folder separately which still allows you to store stuff in your actual Linux home directory. Put a line for each sub-folder you wish to share with Linux and save fstab. You can also just do a reboot.
